This coprolite was found in coastal waterways thought to be the feeding grounds of Megalodon and other sharks between 5 and 25 million years ago. It was cut longitudinally and polished. Crocodilians have a very acidic digestive system; therefore, their coprolites are fairly homogenous. Jesper Milàn did a study on modern crocodilian scat. In his study, it was determined that there is a direct correlation between the diameter of scat and the length of the crocodilian. So if this coprolite was produced by a crocodile of some sort, the poopetrator would have been around 13.4 feet (408.3cm) long!
