These two Permian carnivore coprolites rest in their original gray shale matrix. The smaller coprolite (lower left) does not have any visible inclusions. The larger coprolite contains numerous ganoid scale inclusions. It has been suggested that these scales may be from Paramblypterus rohani, a bony fish common to the formation.
