Detailed Spiral Coprolite

Exquisite detail can be see in this beautiful spiral coprolite. The texture on the spirals is sometimes mistaken for fish scales. In actuality, the beautiful swirls are left by the folds in the spiral valve. While coprolites of this type are usually attributed to sharks, there are a number of other fishes that also have spiral valves.
